This page explains how to delete your account in Faith: Bible Chat & Study, published by Boltt Infraventures Limited, and what happens to your data when you do.
Delete it from inside the app
This is the fastest way and takes about ten seconds.
- Open Faith: Bible Chat & Study on your phone
- Tap Profile in the bottom tab bar
- Scroll down to the Account section
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm when asked
Your account and data are deleted immediately. There is no waiting period, no review, and nothing to email us about. You are signed out and the app returns to its signed-out state.
Or ask us to delete it
If you have uninstalled the app, or the button does not work for you, email faith@doodl.co from the email address on your account with the subject Delete my account.
We use the address you write from to confirm the account is yours, so please send it from that address. We action requests within 30 days and normally within a few working days, and we will email you when it is done.
What is deleted
All of this is erased permanently and cannot be recovered:
- Your account and sign-in details, including your name and email address
- Every conversation you have had, and every message in it
- The optional details you may have given us — gender, age band, phone number, and your sharing preference
- Your daily usage counts
- Your membership of any church or small-group licence
- Everything stored on your device: reading progress, streak, bookmarks, saved verses, offline chapters, theme and reminder settings
- Any reminder notifications scheduled on your phone
What is kept, and for how long
Records of payments are kept, with your identity removed from them. We are required by UK company and tax law to keep records of money received. This covers:
- Subscription and one-off payments — the amount, currency, date and store transaction
- Gift codes that were purchased or redeemed
- Contributions to the pay-it-forward fund
When you delete your account, your identifier is permanently stripped from these records and replaced with a random value that cannot be traced back to you. What remains is an amount and a transaction with no person attached. It is kept for up to 6 years from the end of the relevant financial year, as UK law requires, and is then deleted.
If you had applied for a funded subscription through pay-it-forward, the reason you wrote is deleted outright rather than kept.
One thing worth knowing before you delete. Your subscription is billed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, not by us, so deleting your account here does not cancel it. Cancel it in your store account first — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the exact steps — or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.
